Most Common Questions About Guided Trips
Dennis Breer and the guides of Trout Creek Flies invite you to come experience world-class trout fishing on Utah's Green River. We feature quality walk and wade and drift boat fishing trips on the trophy tail water fishery below Flaming Gorge Dam. This is a region of rugged beauty, colorful history and one of the healthiest trout populations anywhere in the world.
Shocking surveys conducted by the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources show a fish population of 8,000 to 14,000 fish per mile of river. Fish growth rates are equally impressive (1" to 2" per month) due to controlled water temperatures that are maintained by a selective withdrawal structure on the dam. These factors, when combined with special quality oriented fishing regulations, have created a superb year-round trout fishery. Rainbow, cutthroat and a resident population of wild brown trout, in the 15 to 18 inch range are average. Fishing is restricted to artificial flies and lures. We support a fishing-for-fun and "catch and release" philosophy.
Trout Creek Flies philosophy on guiding is to provide the best trip
possible for each individual. we enjoy the beauty of the Canyon through which
the river flows and accentuate the entire experience related to fly-fishing in
our trips. Our aim is to create the optimum trip possible for you, from
instructing the beginner or novice who wishes to be taught the basics --- including casting, rigging outfits, and stalking and catching fish, or for the
more advanced flyfisher who needs just the guides excellent knowledge of the river.
There is a deep history of Outlaw lore in the area, plus
it's Geological
structures are a Mecca for students of Geology. Animal life flourishes along the
river corridor. There are many aspects other then the fishing that produce the
best guides. We desire our guides to be very knowledgeable about the entire physiognomy
of the river and surrounding area, so they are able to answer any type of
question that may arise.
Our wish is that when you leave the Green River we have honed your skills enough
to
be able to visit any river and have knowledge enough to fish it
with confidence, and appreciate the surrounding country. Our Guided trips on the
Green River are strictly Catch & Release. Savor the fishing and catching --
not the killing.

Get your Utah
Fishing License on Line
you may have to go on line yourself to get this hyperlink it is https://www.wildlife.utah.gov/
We are now set up
to do all fishing licenses by computer. The old way of writing them by hand is
gone, however it is a bit slower (due to the crowds) if we have a number of
licenses to do at a time. Therefore we recommend, if it is possible at home, you
get them before coming to the Green River.
Most Common Questions About Guided Trips
With our facility (convenience store, restaurant, shuttle service and showers) we have a great back-up team to help the guided trips run smoother. There is a limited amount of lodging in the area so it would benefit everyone to book their trips and lodging as early as possible.
Deposit
We require 30% of the trip to hold your booking. If you
need to cancel your trip you will receive your entire deposit if the
cancellation is 1 week before the scheduled trip. If there is snow or rain,
generally that means the fishing will be better, but we don't want anyone
to have a bad trip due to inclement weather, therefore bad weather can be
a factor for receiving full return on deposits. Of course if all the other boats
still go out that day we would have to evaluate the situation.
